Golf Marathon Fundraiser

On July 17th, Resplendent Light Church hosted their first Golf Marathon Fundraiser on the beautiful Palos Verdes course at the Terranea Resort to raise funds for their outreach and missions ministry. The beautiful morning consisted of a group of seven excited golfers ranging from beginners to advanced, paired off in groups of two or three, playing through the course with the goal of playing 100 holes. They all had a great time playing the course while enjoying the picturesque view of the oceanside and city view from afar. While some took a break for lunch, others grabbed sandwiches and chips to take with them as they squeezed in as many holes as they could before their time was up. At the end of the marathon, a group of the golfers and their families celebrated over ice cream at a local creamery. At the end, a total of $5,000 funds were raised for the following local outreach and missions: Doug and Haunani W. (full-time missionaries with Diaspora Ministry, ministering to Japanese speaking residents of West Los Angeles), Westside Food Bank, RBC Ministry (daily devotional literature for English, Japanese and Chinese languages), sponsorship of a Mommy & Me group at Clover Park, Teen Challenge (ministry to at-risk young people). I would say Resplendent Light’s first golf marathon was a success!
