Candy Filled Pillows

Makes about 4 dozen cookies
2 1/4 cups sifted flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup butter or margerine
3/4 cup sugar
2 tsp vanilla
2 7-oz. bags miniature (1/4 oz) candy bars
Sift flour with salt. Cream butter. Gradually add sugar, creaming well. Blend in egg and vanilla. Beat well. Stir in the flour mixture.
Press a small amount of dough through a cookie press in ribbon onto ungreased cookie sheets, using saw-tooth spritz plate. Arrange candy bars length-wise on strips of dough. Press another strip of dough over candy, cover completely. Mark cookies between candy bars. If wished, sprinkle with finely chopped nuts, colored sugar or decorations. Bake at 375 degrees, 10-12 minutes, or until light golden brown. Enjoy!
